Summary

A stunning location and diverse array of characters set this New Zealand crime drama apart from the pack. We are in Queenstown on the south-west coast of the South Island, where the cops are baffled by a series of mysterious deaths on the titular one-lane bridge. With clipped performances, evocative cinematography and a Scandi-noir feel, the show also benefits from its inclusion of Maori spirituality in the plot – if you’re not familiar with the concept of matakite, ie heightened intuition or divination, you’re going to need to get up to speed if you’re going to solve the mystery from your armchair.
