Frances Taylor

These days, any factual drama worth its salt has an accompanying documentary. With The Bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 having concluded last night, this programme features heart-rending stories from the families and friends of six of those who were lost on 21 December 1988.

The details are agonising and, so many years on, the pain is still raw. “It’s like BC or AD: before Lockerbie or after Lockerbie,” says Rev John Mosey, the father of passenger Helga Mosey, who was just 19 when she was killed. Helga’s mother Lisa, sitting neatly next to her husband, wears her daughter’s jumper and necklace as she notes: “Your life is halved when your child is gone. You have to try and adapt to that.”
