Summary

"Rab C Nesbitt" is a Scottish sitcom following the plight of a work-shy Govan man who is rarely seen in anything other than a dirty headband, rotting plimsolls, a scruffy pinstripe suit and a string vest. Rab (Gregor Fisher) first appeared on sketch show "Naked Video" before graduating to his own series after a Christmas special in 1988. Writer Ian Pattison also introduced viewers to Rab's long-suffering wife Mary (Elaine C Smith), children Gash (Andrew Fairlie until 2008 then Iain Robertson from 2010) and Burney (Eric Cullen), and slippery best mate Jamesie (Tony Roper) and his other half Ella (Barbara Rafferty). The show was resurrected in a Christmas 2008 special after a near decade-long hiatus. A new series followed in January 2010 and it returned to BBC Two for series 10 in October 2011.
