Summary

In the fourth series Compo, Clegg and Foggy caused further mayhem in six episodes that originally aired between November 1977 and January 1978. Jean Boht, "Ma Boswell" in the sitcom Bread, featured in "Who Made a Bit of a Splash in Wales Then?". Pete Postlethwaite made a guest appearance in a Christmas special broadcast on January 1st, 1978. A new series was not made in 1978 as Roy Clarke was busy writing Open All Hours and Peter Sallis was starring in another sitcom, Leave it to Charlie. A Christmas special in 1978 guest-starred Yorkshire-born actor and comedian Teddy Turner.
