Epic Warrior Women

DNA tests of skeletons in Sweden challenge the idea that all Viking warriors were men. This drama-documentary recreates the life of a young Viking woman who was the garrison commander of Birka, the Vikings' largest trading town in central Sweden. At the end of her life as a trader, explorer and raider, she was buried with the honours of an important Viking chief. Her excavated grave includes a full set of weapons and two horses to guide her through the afterlife
