Summary

"Come Dine with Me" gives strangers the opportunity to show off their culinary skills and hosting abilities to one another. Five contestants from the same area are given one night each to wow the other four in their own homes by hosting a dinner party. Each competitor then rates the host's performance with the eventual winner taking home £1,000 at the end of the week. Each evening is often built around a theme and guests are asked to dress appropriately. Comedian Dave Lamb provides a humorous narration as some contestants will stop at nothing to impress their guests. Well-known faces, including Christopher Biggins, Edwina Currie and Linda Barker, have also competed in one-off specials. It premiered on Channel 4 in 2005. Spin-off series "Couples Come Dine with Me" premiered in 2014.
