Summary
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is an American supernatural drama following the adventures of Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar), a high school cheerleader who uses her gifts of agility, physical strength, endurance, accelerated healing, intuition and a degree of clairvoyance to fight vampires, demons and the forces of darkness. In the small Californian town of Sunnydale, she becomes friends with Xander (Nicholas Brendon) and Willow (Alyson Hannigan) and meets Watcher Rupert Giles (Anthony Stewart Head), who is a member of a secret organisation responsible for tracking malevolent forces. Together, they become known as the Scooby Gang and battle various supernatural occurrences plaguing Sunnydale High. A vampire with a soul, Angel (David Boreanaz), is Buffy's love interest. The hugely popular series ran for seven seasons after premiering in 1997. The equally popular spin-off series, "Angel", ran for five seasons.
