Summary
"DIY SOS" is a lifestyle series that finds Nick Knowles and a team of trade professionals travelling across Britain to complete DIY projects that have gone horribly wrong or not been completed. Projects in past shows have seen the team transforming a dining room into a children's playroom, fixing an attic to create another bedroom, sorting out a drab London sitting room before a wedding party arrived, and helping a family that lived in one room because the rest of the house was uninhabitable. Knowles has worked alongside builders Julian Perryman, Chris Frediani and Mark Millar, and designers Charlie Luxton, Oliver Heath and Nina Campbell. The long-running series premiered on BBC One in 1999. In 2010, the series became "DIY SOS: The Big Build" and begin focusing on more ambitious projects, such as building a loft conversion or extension.
