Summary

"Battlestar Galactica" is a re-imagining of the Battlestar Galactica TV series from 1978. The new show, created by David Eick and Ronald D Moore, was set in a distant part of the galaxy. After losing a war against Cylon robots, a fleet of ships searches for the mythical planet Earth, protected only by the military warship Galactica. Commander William Adama (Edward James Olmos) and President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell) lead the fleet deep into uncharted space with their tormentors, the Cylons, in hot pursuit. Other characters include Kara "Starbuck" Thrace (Katee Sackhoff), Lee "Apollo" Adama (Jamie Bamber), Dr Gaius Baltar (James Callis), Six (Tricia Helfer) and Lt Sharon `Boomer" Valerii (Grace Park). The new version ran for 75 episodes between 2004 and 2009.
