"Football Focus" is a BBC weekly sports magazine programme covering both English and Scottish football. Presented by Dan Walker, it is broadcast on Saturday lunchtimes so it can preview the weekend's upcoming fixtures as well as feature reports from across the country at all levels of football. The show can also broadcast the goalmouth incidents of the midweek matches with some analysis afterwards by the pundits in the studio. Walker is usually joined by former footballers and "Match of the Day" contributors Mark Lawrenson, Lee Dixon and Martin Keown. Commentators including Jonathan Pearce, Steve Wilson, Guy Mowbray and John Motson also appear offering team news of the weekend's matches. Until 2001 "Football Focus" was a programme strand within "Grandstand" after which it became a stand-alone programme. Previous presenters have included Bob Wilson, Steve Rider, Gary Lineker, Ray Stubbs, Manish Bhasin and Jake Humphrey. Other football programmes on the BBC "Final Score", "Match of the Day" and "Match of the Day 2" focus on post-game analysis, but "Football Focus" offers a chance to preview the matches and invite the guests to make predictions on the results.
