The Time Traveler's Wife

“No one should meet their soulmate when they’re six years old.” An older Clare (Rose Leslie) is looking back on her childhood, when she first met time-hopping Henry (Theo James). They encounter each other dozens of times to play checkers, then chess, as she grows up and spends so much of her time waiting to see him again in her garden hideaway. But how long will it take her to work out what, precisely, this mysterious, handsome man will mean to her in the future?

But this is far from a traditional romance. And as Clare’s own hormones start to kick in during her teenage years, we’re entering dangerous waters. Frankly, it’s all rather uncomfortable, on several levels.
