Episode 30: Casualty

Summary

Glen and Robyn are both rushed to the ED, where he finally tells her the truth about his seizures and agrees to undergo an MRI scan. Bea grows concerned that Dylan's alcoholism may be affecting his judgement and asks to shadow him. The pair treat a young woman who is suffering chest pain and is convinced she has tuberculosis.

Review

The emergency department is more tense and emotional than usual with the admittance of newlyweds Robyn and her desperately sick husband Glen after their honeymoon car accident.

Though bashed and bloodied the young couple are determined to make the best of their married life, however short it might be. But there are a vigil and violins by the end as their friends gather for what could be a long and sad night.

Meanwhile Dylan, fed up with being offered well-meaning advice about his alcoholism, feels particularly emotionally bruised after young rookie Bea, renowned for opening her mouth to say something thoughtless without checking who might be nearby, makes a gaffe when a woman comes in complaining of chest pains.
