Episode 36: Casualty

Summary

Iain and Sam find a confused woman with deep lacerations to her head wandering the streets, and when they take her into the ED, Connie instantly recognises her as a friend from chemotherapy. Bea struggles to regain her confidence on her first day back at work, while Alicia and Ethan have a heart-to-heart and agree to be friends again.

Review

Paramedics Iain and Sam leap from their ambulance to help a dazed elderly woman who’s wandering down the street in her dressing gown, bleeding from a huge head injury.

Once the patient arrives in the ED, it’s clear Connie knows her and so do we. She’s the woman who was undergoing the revolutionary cancer treatment Connie paid for a few weeks ago. But where’s her devoted husband Ray?

When the circumstances of the injury become clear, Connie leaps into action; she jumps to conclusions and Passes A Connie Judgement.

Meanwhile, Ethan and Alicia reach a rapprochement, though Alicia moves on with the alacrity we’ve come to expect, leaping on a presentable young man like a squirrel on a birdfeeder.
