Review

If you saw their One Night Only show (oh the irony) last Christmas, you’ll know exactly what to expect from Michael Ball and Alfie Boe’s “sequel to their one-off special”. Once again there’s stupendous singing and a lot of well-rehearsed badinage, which you’ll either find achingly cheesy or charmingly entertaining.

They’re clearly having a great time, whether belting out show tunes, rapping (yes, really) or singing Wham! songs, while the terrible way they treat their guest stars (Jason Manford and Imelda May – not the Queen guitarist, as they introduce her) takes you back to the days of Morecambe and Wise.
