Episode 2: Thank You
Summary
The chef prepares a feast for people doing voluntary work through the pandemic, from helping at food banks and vaccination centres to sewing PPE. The centrepiece of the meal is salmon decorated and flavoured with rosemary, chillies, capers and anchovies, served with a lemony potato salad and extra sweet oregano and garlic roasted tomatoes. Jamie also serves up cheesy puffs as canapes, strawberry and prosecco cocktails, and a summer pudding made with strawberries, cucumber and Pimm's
Review

With Jamie Oliver’s programmes, it’s the incidental tips and details that stick in your mind, even if you never get it together to make the recipes. This week, almost as an aside, he makes a little batch of “joyful” minty sugar to go with his summer pudding and it looks superb, like it would go with any number of things.
Oh, and the summer pudding itself isn’t your average, of course: it has Pimm’s in, and ginger beer. And cucumber. If he told you it was good garnished with anchovies, you’d believe him.
Jamie also shows us a neat way to stone an olive with your thumb. When at one stage he drops one of his cheeseballs on the floor and chucks it out the window, it’s good to know he’s human.
