Episode 1: Season 1, Episode 1
Summary
The presenter takes a journey through the Gobi desert in Mongolia, one of the most desolate places on Earth. Nick's first encounter involves riders of the Namnaa Horse Archery Academy, who are reminiscent of the Mongolian army that swept across Asia 800 years ago. He also investigates a bus carrying a miniature mobile dinosaur museum, and meets palaeontologist, Professor Bolortsetseg Minjin
Review

Nick Knowles is not lost, of course, even though Mongolia is a vast, barren land sandwiched between Russian and China. And, fortunately, despite their fierce historical reputation, he finds that modern-day Mongols are extremely friendly.
In the Gobi he learns how to shoot a bow and arrow while galloping on a horse, just as Genghis Khan’s warriors did. He’s surprisingly good at it. Better anyway than he is at making traditional dumplings in a five-star lodge. However, his boyhood dream comes true when he finds a dinosaur tooth in the desert.
