"Farscape" is a sci-fi drama mixing live action, CGI and special effects and prosthetics from the Jim Henson Company ("The Muppets", Sesame Street") to tell the story of an astronaut from Earth called John Crichton (Ben Browder). While on an experimental mission, Crichton is accidently hurled across the universe to a place inhabited by aliens and where intergalactic conflicts rage. He finds himself part of a fugitive alien crew on a living ship called the "Moya" and must adapt to his new surroundings if he is to escape from the military alien race, known as the Peacekeepers, pursuing him. The crew of the Moya includes: a renegade Peacekeeper called Aeryn Sun (Claudia Black); a Luxan warrior called Ka D'Argo (Anthony Simcoe) who carries a Qualta Blade, a sword capable of transforming into a rifle; Chiana (Gigi Edgley), a Nebari thief and con-artist; Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan (Virginia Hey), a bald, blue-skinned Delvian; and Dominar Rygel XVI (voiced by Jonathan Hardy), once ruler of the Hynerian Empire. As Crichton searches for another wormhole that will take him back to Earth, he must battle Peacekeeper Captain Bialar Crais (Lani Tupu) who relentlessly hunts Moya and its crew. Crais' position as the main antagonist is usurped by Scorpius (Wayne Pygram). He wants to unlock the secrets of wormhole technology and Crais becomes part of the Moya - literally. Crichton must also come to terms with his complicated relationship with Aeryn. Although the series was under contract for five series, it was cancelled after the fourth, ending on a cliffhanger. A three-hour mini-series has been produced called "Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars" and new webisodes have been announced.
