Summary
"Would I Lie to You?" is a comedy panel show where regulars and guests on two teams take it in turns to share amusing anecdotes about themselves. Members of the opposing team must assess whether or not they are telling the truth. Original host Angus Deayton was replaced by Rob Brydon from series three onwards. Regular team captains Lee Mack and David Mitchell are flanked each week by well-known faces from the world of TV. The panellists often tell convoluted tales that all sound like they could be fictional. As they are cross-examined by their opponents, the additional information they provide often makes their original tales even more outlandish. Conversely, the most unlikely stories sometimes prove valid: David Mitchell did dress up as an 18th-century nobleman, Dom Joly went to school with Osama bin Laden, and Frankie Boyle is allergic to money. There is a round in which a possession of one of the guests is held up and the others must decide if it really belongs to them. It premiered on BBC One in 2007.
