England v Argentina

Summary

England v Argentina (Kick-off 8.00pm). Coverage of the second semi-final, which takes place at Atlanta Stadium in the USA. England reached their fourth World Cup semi-final with an extra-time victory against Norway in the quarter-finals, and were victorious in this stadium in the last 32, when they came from behind again to defeat DR Congo. The goals of Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham have been key to their success, and they'll be needed again here against old foes Argentina. The reigning champions haven't been at their best in their title defence, but have still managed to score three times in each of their three knockout matches so far, and have the remarkable Lionel Messi, who is set to face England for the first time in his career

England will look to reach their first World Cup final in 60 years when they battle bitter rivals Argentina at the Atlanta Stadium.

Jude Bellingham was the Three Lions’ hero in the quarter-finals as his brace helped Thomas Tuchel’s team come from behind to beat Erling Haaland’s Norway in extra time. Reigning champions Argentina also needed an additional period to get past stubborn Switzerland in the last-eight stage.
