Live F1 British Grand Prix

Summary

Coverage of the 10th round of the season, which takes place at Silverstone, where Lewis Hamilton was victorious last year (Start-time 3.00pm). The Red Bull and Ferrari drivers have largely been dominating the points this season, with last season's champion Max Verstappen starting to pull away at the top of the standings, but despite this season's struggles, Hamilton will go into the race with confidence after finishing on the podium last time out in Canada and having won seven of the last eight races here

Review

After the theatrics of last season, this latest F1 campaign has been somewhat low on intrigue. At least to the softcore audience, that is. Lewis Hamilton has been dealt car trouble that has kept him from racing at his fluent best, meaning that his rivalry with world champion Max Verstappen has become one-sided — and today could offer a particularly sore reminder of that reality for the British superstar.

Hamilton and his Mercedes have won seven of the last eight races at Silverstone, but form dictates that Verstappen will be a much safer bet to win on British soil this afternoon — and don’t count out Sergio Perez or Charles Leclerc, either. Similarly, George Russell will hope to reiterate his ability to usurp Hamilton as the Mercedes driver highest up the grid. So it’s all to race for and, for once this season, all live on C4.
