Summary

Created by TV executive Reg Watson, "Neighbours" is a long-running Australian soap opera. It was first screened in the UK in 1986 and was frequently the most-watched daytime programme for many years. The show revolves around the domestic and professional lives of people living in the fictional suburb of Erinsborough, Melbourne, and primarily in Ramsay Street, a cul-de-sac, and its neighbouring areas. At the height of its popularity, more than 20 million viewers watched Scott and Charlene's wedding in 1987. Storylines frequently focus on family problems, romances and domestic issues. Several actors are closely associated with the soap, including Alan Dale as Jim Robinson, Anne Charleston as Madge Bishop, Kylie Minogue as Charlene Mitchell, Jason Donovan as Scott Robinson, Ian Smith as Harold Bishop and Ryan Moloney as Toadfish
