Episode 17: She's My Baby

Summary

After the embarrassment of last week, Paige is determined to redeem herself on her first shift, but struggles to keep up with mentor Stevie's demands. Paula is rushed into ED after falling from her balcony at home, but she is still determined to make it to her hearing, with social services set to make their decision about whether her baby should be taken into care

Review

For some unfathomable reason, Stevie has now been tasked with being newbie Paige’s mentor. Having spent 2021 scheming like Dick Dastardly, it’s a wonder Stevie still has a job, never mind one that involves guiding a colleague’s career. What’s she going to teach Paige exactly? The art of surreptitious eyebrow raising? How to twiddle an invisible moustache?

In other news, we have comedian Rosie Jones back in a hospital bed after her character, pregnant Paula Kettering, falls from a third-storey balcony. If the stand-up career ever goes south, Rosie would be a shoo-in for the next Mission: Impossible movie, as it seems that whenever she appears on Casualty, there’s impressive stunt work involved.
