Summary
"Auction" is a 10-part documentary series that visits some of the world's most prestigious auction houses, including Christie's in London and Paris, and Sotheby's in New York, as well as smaller specialist sales rooms and country house clearances. Experts reveal their thoughts on artworks, big-money pricings and the reclusive bidders who know that great art can make a good investment. Some of the pieces being auctioned in the series include the yellow Rolls Royce driven by Robert Redford in The Great Gatsby, Churchill memorabilia collected by American publisher Steve Forbes, and Fabergé cigarette cases made for the Russian Imperial Court. The series airs on Sky Arts.
