Episode 8: The Masked Singer: The Final

Summary

Joel Dommett hosts as the three remaining incognito celebrities compete to be crowned the ultimate champion, with last year's winner Joss Stone joining panellists Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Mo Gilligan. The identities of all three finalists will be revealed, while all 12 singers reunite for a special group performance and three previous competitors return for a trio of one-of-a-kind duets

Review

There’s a first on tonight’s final of The Masked Singer – and no, sadly it’s not Davina McCall refraining from exclaiming “YES [insert silly character name here]!” at top volume. No, it’s that singers from previous series are returning in character to perform with the three finalists. Robin, Hedgehog and Queen Bee – who are, spoiler alert, Aston Merrygold, Jason Manford and series one winner Nicola Roberts – will be re-masking; wearing their old disguises to duet with the last performers standing.

Meanwhile, reigning champion Joss Stone – the artist formerly known as Sausage – joins the panel to help weed out some final clues before the winner is crowned. This show is unabashedly silly, at times is downright annoying – and the next series can’t come soon enough.
