Episode 4: Sarah Beeny's New Life in the Country

Summary

Following Sarah Beeny and her family as they relocate from London to Somerset, renovating a semi-derelict former dairy farm into their dream family home. In this episode, Sarah and Graham get to work on the foundations of their new dream house, while Raffey and Laurie try to bring in some extra cash for the farm with a petting zoo for the public. Sarah wants to one day plant a truffle wood on the farm and has high hopes that Maple the dog can be trained to sniff truffles out, so she heads off to meet truffle hunter Tom to find out more

Review

It’s full steam ahead now that Sarah Beeny and her husband Graham have been given planning permission to build their dream Somerset farmhouse. But in true property-show style, things go wrong from the very start as, on the first day, a digger gets stuck in the mud in a boggy, rain-soaked field.
Yes, of course, “the costs are rapidly increasing” we are told, as the delays mount. But there are diversions in a pleasant show where nothing very much happens. Beeny and her family visit a rescue centre to marvel at birds of prey, and later it’s Bonfire Night, so the gang make toffee apples before watching a firework display.
