Episode 5: Sarah Beeny's New Life in the Country

Summary

Following Sarah Beeny and her family as they relocate from London to Somerset, renovating a semi-derelict former dairy farm into their dream family home. In the fifth episode, the family continue their plans to diversify the farm and test out whether they have enough space to turn some of the land into a glamping site. Before they commit to anything, they invite some friends and family to spend the weekend glamping with them

Review

Graham, Sarah Beeny’s husband, enlists the help of a small army of metal detectorists after he loses a treasured family heirloom in a pond on the couple’s Somerset farm.

It’s a diversion from watching lots and lots of concrete being poured into the footings for the dream farmhouse they’re building, as well as learning even more about ICF (insulated concrete formwork, since you ask) construction. Sarah and Graham go on a day-long course, but she is baffled and out of her depth.

Otherwise, as part of their plans to run a diverse range of businesses, the couple decide that glamping might be a good idea, and test run a tent complete with a portable, luxurious bathroom.
