EastEnders: Stacey and Phil killed in gas explosion?

Has the BBC1 soap revealed who is getting bumped off in a dramatic week of episodes?

Week 36 - Mitchells

EastEnders has given the first details of whose lives will be at stake in its upcoming high-profile ‘gas explosion’ week.

As we reported last week, the BBC1 soap will screen the large-scale disaster next month, with a main character set to lose their life as part of the plotline.

Now it has been revealed that the blast will rip through the Square during the much-talked-about Walford in Bloom competition.

And panic will ensue when the Mitchells realise that Phil was near the site of the explosion, while Martin is distressed when he’s unable to find Stacey. Could it be that EastEnders is killing off two of its most iconic characters?

Speculation has also been rife that Max’s long-running revenge plan will finally be exposed, while Steven’s exit is also rumoured to be airing as part of this dramatic storyline.

Speaking about the set-piece drama,  a source told The Sun:“It’s a bold stunt and has taken months of planning. It’ll trigger a load of other storylines off the back of it, but the explosion itself will be a major talking point.

“Viewers will be left wondering whether it was set off on purpose or by accident, and bosses are staying tight-lipped about who will die but at least one is looking like they will.”
