Ange Postecoglou has enjoyed a brilliant start to life as Spurs boss and has surely earned the backing of club chiefs. While injuries and a run of defeats halted talk of a title challenge, there can be no denying the impact that the Australian coach has had.

It looks set to be an important month for Tottenham – with a number of injured players set to return and reinforcements for Postecoglou's squad likely to be sought.

Bolstering the backline was at the top of Tottenham's list of January priorities, with Radu Dragusin joining from Genoa in a £25million deal.

Former Chelsea forward Timo Werner also joined Spurs from RB Leipzig. The German has completed a loan move until the end of the season but there's an option to make the deal permanent in a few months.

Postecoglou is also on the hunt for midfield reinforcements, with Chelsea's Conor Gallagher on their radar.

It remains to be seen whether a deal can be finalised in January, if not, it could be one to keep an eye on in the summer.

Chelsea are said to be open to selling Gallagher, despite the 23-year-old being one of the Blues' main men under Mauricio Pochettino this campaign.

There could also be a couple of midfield departures as Juventus are considering Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, while Barcelona have been linked with Giovani Lo Celso.

Hojbjerg’s future could be decided in the summer, however, with his lawyer revealing he will be staying put until the end of the season.
