New Hollyoaks Later to feature return of Jeremy Edwards, James Redmond and John Pickard

Past characters Kurt, Finn and Dom will appear in late-night episodes this autumn

A new run of Hollyoaks Later to be shown this autumn is to feature past series stars Jeremy Edwards, James Redmond and John Pickard.

The late-night episodes are being billed as an “epic ride of Hangover-style proportions” set against a backdrop of Spanish and Moroccan locations and will star such characters as Kurt Benson, Rory “Finn” Finnigan and Dom Reilly.

The plot will see current regular Hollyoaks character Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) facing his demons as he battles against cancer and bringing his old friends together in the process.

Alongside Tony’s tale, the five episodes – to be shown on consecutive nights – will also feature a “chilling storyline” involving Esther (Jazmine Franks) and Tilly (Lucy Dixon) as they celebrate an 18th birthday in a spooky location, while Theresa joins up with a new recruit of the McQueen clan on a wild road trip.

Kurt Benson was one of Hollyoaks’s original characters and appeared on the Channel 4 soap between 1995 and 1999. Since his departure Jeremy Edwards has had a regular role on Holby City and also took part in both Celebrity Big Brother and Dancing on Ice. James Redmond (whose original stint lasted from 1998 until 2002) took on another high profile role as Abs Denham in Casualty after leaving Hollyoaks, while John Pickard has also had Casualty screen credit following his 2005-2010 tenure as Dominic Reilly.
