Double-dealing Dr Jermaine Bailey looks set to come unstuck next week when his affair with Belle Dingle is finally exposed and he ends up getting fired from his job as the village’s GP.
“Get ready for showdown week!” says actor Micah Balfour. “This is the one that a lot of people have been waiting for. Bailey could finally get his comeuppance. There’s a big meeting with Angie and the Dingles and it all kicks off from there.”
Tense upcoming episodes will see Cain learn Belle is not a stalker and that she has in fact been in a relationship with Bailey. It’s a realisation that will have severe repercussions for Jermaine, who is left in need of medical help after being set-upon by Belle’s brother.
Adds Balfour: “Cain isn’t too happy that he’s been lied to. He chose to believe that Belle had been stalking Bailey, so he’s not happy to find out that Bailey really was having an affair with his sister.
“So the confrontation doesn’t go down too well. And it could end up with Bailey being in a hospital bed.”
By the week’s end, Bailey’s career and future in Emmerdale will be at risk after his boss gets wind of what’s been going on. But it’s heartening to know that despite Belle and Bailey’s having caused no end of drama, actor Balfour has been having a ball behind the scenes:
“It’s been a lot of fun to play. I’m working with a fantastic actress in Eden Taylor-Draper. And it’s great to play something that has some controversy and is hopefully getting viewers talking.”
