Emmerdale 40th: Carl King frontrunner to be killed in live episode

RadioTimes.com users tip the soap's resident sleazebag to exit the show tonight

For the past week, RadioTimes.com users have been voting on who they think will meet their maker in tonight’s live episode of Emmerdale. And at the time of writing, the clear winner (or loser, in terms of their fate) is sleazebag businessman Carl King, who’s picked up 582 votes, which works out as a 47.51% share of the overall turnout.

In second place is rheumy-eyed love cheat Cameron Murray (181 votes, 14.78% share), while Alan Turner – Emmerdale’s longest-standing character – comes in third with 97 votes and a 7.92% share.

Over 1200 people have so far voted, but there is still time to have your say before the live episode airs at 7pm on ITV1.

Carl (played by Tom Lister since 2004) is now also the odds-on (1/2) favourite to be killed, according to figures released by bookmakers.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Carl’s the king of evil but the money suggests he’s going to be brutally dethroned on Wednesday night, which will please Emmerdale fans and punters in equal measures.”
