EastEnders: Dean is FINALLY arrested after Mick saves his life

Rapist Dean got his comeuppance in tonight's double bill of the BBC1 soap

Loathsome Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) looks set to spend 2016 in a prison cell after being arrested for the attempted rape of Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons).

Scenes just broadcast in tonight’s EastEnders saw the Walford villain finally brought to justice following a fight in a lake that saw him try to drown brother Mick (Danny Dyer) and mum Shirley (Linda Henry).

The tense showdown saw groom-to-be Mick get the better of Dean in the underwater battle, but then opt to save his life as the unconscious rapist slipped beneath the surface. Mick then gave his brother mouth to mouth by the lakeside, just as arresting officers arrived at the scene.

The confrontation came at the climax of a fraught festive season that saw Dean admit to having raped Linda (Kellie Bright) in October 2014 before fleeing Albert Square after being ousted by the Carter clan.
He then returned in this evening’s double bill to wreak revenge on the day of Mick and Linda’s wedding, only to be led away in handcuffs.

Speaking about his time playing the despicable Dean, actor Matt Di Angelo said recently to ITV’s Lorraine: “He’s a bad person You can’t find excuses for him. He’s a bad character, but to be honest, it’s a lot of fun.”
