EastEnders has dropped a big bombshell on viewers after a beleaguered Ronnie Mitchell figured out that Vincent Hubbard works with the police.
Enigmatic Vincent, who has – up to this point – been depicted as a local gangster figure, was revealed on Tuesday’s episode of the BBC1 soap to be in cahoots with the Walford cops.
Ronnie (Samantha Womack) put the pieces together after being arrested for the murder of Carl White, only to find that the officers weren’t from the police at all.
After being dumped in scrubland, Ronnie was rescued by Vincent (Richard Blackwood), who took her back to the Square and told her that she needed to flee Walford. After Vincent revealed that he’d bought her a plane ticket, Ronnie made plain her feelings about the plan by running off in the direction of the police station.
But after Vincent tracked Ronnie down, the pair had a furious showdown, during which the truth came out about Vincent’s ‘connections’.
“There’s nothing you can say to them that I don’t know already,” insisted Vincent, as Ronnie tried to hand herself in to plead self defence.
“And what are you, the police?” yelled Ronnie, the shocked expression on Vincent’s face resulting in Ronnie asking, “My god, you are, aren’t you?”
Needless to say, Twitter was dumbstruck following the bombshell, with comments ranging from:

But how involved is Vincent with the forces of law and order? What does he intend to do with Ronnie now that she knows? And how aware is Claudette of what her son does for her living? Expect more drama when EastEnders returns on Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC1.
