EastEnders: Emma Barton to return as Honey Mitchell

"I can't wait to put Honey's shoes back on and find out what's she's been up to," says the actress

Is luckless Billy Mitchell about to have a change of fortunes? It certainly seems that way what with ex-wife Honey returning to Walford this autumn.

Honey was last seen during a brief reappearance in 2014 when she revealed that she was starting a new life in Canada thanks to a job offer for her and Billy’s son William.

The move overseas meant that daughter Janet stayed in London with Billy (Perry Fenwick), but what will the move back home mean for the family?

On the topic of her return, actress Emma Barton – who has recently been playing Dolly in the touring production of One Man, Two Guvnors – said: “I was absolutely delighted to be asked to return to the Square! Cliché as it sounds, but it’s like coming home.

“I’ve had a wonderful time treading the boards but can’t wait to put Honey’s shoes back on and find out what’s she’s been up to and what the future has in store.”
