Aunt Babe (Annette Badland) is to grow suspicious of Stan Carter (Timothy West) in the coming weeks when he lies about his whereabouts. After deciding to follow him, an upset Babe later confronts Stan back at the Vic and tells him that she knows where he went. She makes it plain that he needs to stop lying to his family, but what exactly is Stan hiding?
News that Timothy West was to leave EastEnders broke in October of this year, with a source telling RadioTimes.com: “When Timothy West signed up to play Stan we always knew how long we had him for. To have someone of his calibre in EastEnders has been incredible. And there’s still a long way to go yet.”
The confirmation came following comments made by executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins to the Daily Star Sunday about West’s future on the soap: When you have an actor of Tim’s calibre joining your cast, you treasure every day that you have him – and we knew from the start that Stan’s stay with the rest of the Carter Family would be a finite one.
“But what a stay – and as we draw towards Stan’s exit from the show, the audience should get ready as one of Britain’s finest actors pulls out all the stops and gives his King Lear…”
Fans can see Babe confront Stan when EastEnders airs these scenes on the 13th of November.
