We’ve recently seen Shirley’s errant offspring Dean (Matt Di Angelo) lurking in the shadows and having clandestine meet-ups with his granddad Stan (Timothy West), but mother and son have so far failed to come face to face.
That’s all set to change in the coming weeks when Dean turns up at the Vic expecting to have a quiet drink with Stan only to be confronted by the rest of the Carters. But, after not seeing her son for years, Shirley (Linda Henry) is devastated when an angry Dean tears into her in front of everyone.
Mick’s (Danny Dyer) warnings for Dean to stop fall on deaf ears and the Queen Vic landlord is soon taking matters into his own hands. Unable to stand by and watch his sister be treated badly, Mick punches Dean and sends him crashing to the floor.
Find out the consequences of Mick’s actions when EastEnders airs these scenes on Thursday 15 May at 7.30pm on BBC1.
