A familiar face returns to Albert Square this autumn as Mandy Salter (Nicola Stapleton) arrives back in Walford. It’s a very different place from the one she left in 1994 and she’s no longer a teenage rebel – but the BBC promises she hasn’t calmed down.
“Mandy has grown up a bit since then but she’s still fun, chaotic and wild, with a spiteful streak,” an EastEnders spokesperson said. “Mandy is a well-known manipulative force of nature so it’s more than likely she’ll be causing trouble for at least one of Walford’s residents.”
Since 1994, Stapleton has appeared in shows including The Bill and Young Person’s Guide to Becoming a Rock Star but is perhaps best known for ITV1’s Bad Girls. She says she’s looking forward to returning to EastEnders: “It will be interesting to see what she’s been up to all this time. I’m excited to be coming back and working with some old friends.”
