Has Coronation Street just killed off Leanne Battersby?
Jane Danson's character became an unexpected casualty of the Connors' car crash tonight
Leanne Battersby has been unexpectedly caught up in the Connors' car crash on Coronation Street after being reversed over by sinister Ronan Truman. Viewers saw Leanne left in a bloodied, unconscious state following the collision and will now have to wait until tonight's second episode to discover whether she's been killed off.
In the run-up to the cliffhanger scene, fans witnessed Ronan drive his car straight at Ryan Connor, who was thrown over the bonnet and onto the ground. But as distraught mum Michelle challenged Ronan to do his worst to her, the sound of approaching sirens was enough to make the gangster panic and throw his vehicle into reverse.
Little did Ronan know that Leanne had suddenly appeared on the scene, having seen the drama from a taxi she'd been travelling in. After instructing her driver to cut the engine and call for help, Leanne dashed over to offer assistance, only to end up being hit by Ronan's car. After running over Leanne, Ronan ended up losing control of his car completely and crashing into a ditch.
So, at the climax to the first part of Friday's double bill, the lives of Leanne, Ryan and Ronan all hang in the balance. When we return to Coronation Street at 8.30pm, an ambulance will be called to the crash sight, while CPR is performed on the victims. But who won't be making it through until 9pm?
