Sir Cliff Richard calls time on his calendar days

After 35 editions, the 2014 calendar will mark the last time Sir Cliff strikes a pose for his loyal fan base

Spare a moment’s thought for the middle-aged ladies of the nation. Today has brought some sad, sad news. Sir Cliff Richard has announced that the 35th edition of his famous calendar will be his last.


“I am not going to do any more,” he reveals on tonight’s Graham Norton Show. “How many shapes can I pull with this body? It’s a pressure.” At 73 years of age, we’d like to commend Cliff on many years of baring his torso and striking an array of poses, thrilling his scores of older female fans with visual treats like this…

We owe Sir Cliff a great deal for his 35 years of service to date-keeping. And while he may have been overtaken by One Direction in recent times, he’ll always be known as the King of the Calendar. Take a bow, Sir Cliff.
