Mick and Linda Carter try to put their terrible year behind them this Christmas by renewing their wedding vows and accepting they’ve lost the Queen Vic by going out in style with a big party. But with Mick in deep with gangster Aidan Maguire, the festive season threatens to take some sinister turns for the couple…
Tempted by charismatic criminal Aidan to be part of his upcoming dodgy job with the promise of making enough cash to save the pub, Mick gets cold feet on Christmas Eve and tells co-conspirator Phil Mitchell he’s out.
Aidan is not pleased when he gets wind of the landlord’s change of heart, and leaves a special gift for Mick under the tree in the pub…
On Christmas Day the Carters put everything into their much-discussed renewal of their weddings vows, ensuring their last Christmas as owners of the Queen Vic is the best it can be.
But aggrieved Aidan turns up and tells Mick about the little present he left for him – a gun. And as payback for pulling out of the job and letting him down, Mr Maguire tells the panicking publican he’s called the police to report it…
Will Mick and Linda’s vow renewal end in an arrest – or even a shooting?
Later in Christmas week, Linda is looking for another local boozer for her and Mick to run, but her hubby is preoccupied with turning down Aidan’s offer as they continue to struggle financially and buying another pub looks like a pipe dream.
And as New Year’s Eve approaches, Aidan’s pulls together plans for the job as the Carters’ farewell bash is held at the Vic.
Seeing how upset his beloved L is at losing their pride and joy, Mick is torn between being a good boy or solving his problems by taking a deadly risk and getting back on board with Aidan and the gang. How far will Mick be prepared to go to keep the Carters in the Queen Vic?
