Emmerdale: did Ross just confess to Emma’s murder?

Whose death is Ross responsible for?

Ross Barton has left Emmerdale fans wondering whether he was responsible for his mum Emma’s murder in scenes just shown tonight.

Friday’s episode of the ITV soap saw Ross discover Pete’s unconscious body at the foot of the stairs following his drunken fall. But as he rang for an ambulance, a desperate Ross was seen saying, “I will not be responsible for your death as well.”

And you don’t have to take our word for it: Adam Barton – who just happened to be called round at the time – also heard Ross utter the fateful words and challenged him about them as Pete was taken off to hospital.

Viewers don’t have long to wait to find out who committed the crime – the killer will be unmasked in the episodes to be broadcast on Thursday 14 December.

But in the run-up to the big reveal, Adam will be seen making an anonymous call to the police, saying that Ross killed Emma. When the police turn up and present Ross with a warrant to search the house, just what will they find?
