Former Doctor Who star David Tennant is bringing a little sci-fi magic to kids’ TV favourite Fireman Sam to mark the show’s 30th anniversary.
The Tenth Doctor stars as alien-hunting TV presenter Buck Douglas in the 60-minute Fireman Sam movie special, which sees Sam try to get to the bottom of exactly what this oddball UFO tracker is doing in the quiet town of Pontypandy.

“I guess you could say I play the Derek Acorah of the Alien hunting world in the new movie, which is a lot of fun!” Tennant said.
He added, “Fireman Sam is a true institution of children’s television and a series that’s much-loved by all in our household. The new movie takes us to new levels of excitement with a sci-fi slant that includes new characters, rescue vehicles, locations, and plot twists.”
Fireman Sam was first shown on UK TV screens in 1987, making it only slightly less long-running than the 54-year-old Doctor Who.
Fireman Sam: Alien Alert – The Movie was released in cinemas earlier this summer, and is now available to own on DVD. Find it on Amazon here.
