CBBC celebrates 10 years of The Sarah Jane Adventures with special Sunday marathon

Can you believe it's been a decade since Sarah Jane Smith returned to our TV screens?

The Sarah Jane Adventures

On New Year’s Day in 2007 the Doctor’s companion, Sarah Jane Smith, returned to our TV screens in a one-off special, that heralded the beginning of a brand new series of Sarah Jane Adventures.

The show’s first ten-episode run kicked off on 24th September 2007, and followed investigative journalist Sarah Jane (the late Elisabeth Sladen), her adopted son Luke (Tommy Knight), their neighbour Maria Jackson (Yasmin Paige) and Clyde Langer (Daniel Anthony) as they battled aliens, saved the world and even met a certain Time Lord (David Tennant, Matt Smith) all from the attic of 13 Bannerman Road.

CBBC will mark the show’s special anniversary by showing three episodes from the first series from 2.10pm on Sunday 24th September, kicking off with Revenge of The Slitheen Part One.

Creator Russell T Davies introduced the three special episodes in a CBBC video below, including “possibly my favourite story we ever made”.

The show ran for five series, during which the members of Sarah Jane’s little gang included Rani, Haresh and Gita Chandra. Alexander Armstrong was also on hand to voice her trusty computer, Mr Smith.

And Ronnie Corbett even joined the cast for a Red Nose Day special in 2009.
