Breakfast show host Edith Bowman is to leave Virgin Radio at the end of September.
The former Radio 1 DJ joined the relaunched station in March last year and has fronted the morning slot for the past 18 months.
“After a fantastic 18 months hosting the Virgin Radio Breakfast Show, I’ve decided it’s time to move on,” wrote Bowman on Twitter.
“The team on the show who I love, have worked their socks off and the other presenters and production staff are a joy to work with. My last show will be 29th September. I wish the new team the very best of luck, you have the most attentive, fun and spritely listeners. I have a very long list of projects that I want to pursue and there are a few things up my sleeve with plans being hatched as we speak, it’s very exciting times. Thank you to the listeners for your ears and support. All my love, Edith xxx.”
In a statement on Twitter, Virgin Radio said: “Edith has brought much passion and professionalism to our breakfast show for the past 18 months and was an integral part of our launch. Her last show with us will be on September 29 and we wish her the UK best of luck with all her future projects after then. We will be announcing our new breakfast show team later today.”
