Hollyoaks: trial shock as James Nightingale reveals he knows who killed Amy Barnes! What happens next?

You might have to wait a bit longer to find out his theory...

EP 4726 JAMES NIGHTINGALE 02

Hollyoaks launched it’s epic trial week on E4 tonight as Ste Hay took to the stand, accused of murdering Amy Barnes, and the cliffhanger teased we were closer than ever to discovering the true identity of the killer as corrupt lawyer James Nightingale announced he knows who did it…

Ste finally realised James was deliberately sabotaging his case and was trying to get him sent down by way of revenge for sleeping with Mr Nightingale’s ex John Paul McQueen, and after the accused faked a seizure by pretending to collapse in the dock with chest pains he confronted the crooked lawman in private.

Threatening to report James, seething Ste raged at how he’d been set up for months – but crafty James shut him down with the bombshell that knows who really killed Amy…

Unfortunately, the end credits kicked in before James could say any more, so fans will have to wait until next week to find out who he’s pointing the finger at.

Should we take his cryptic statement to mean it’s NOT Ste who’s guilty? Or is this James’s way of letting his client know he actually did it all along? Why has James kept this to himself? How long has he known? Or could the slippery snake be lying just to get a reaction from Mr Hay over the homicidal horror as part of some grand plan to ensure he’s found guilty? Will James even tell Ste what he knows, or keep him dangling in suspense like has has done with the viewing public?!

Hollyoaks have promised twists and turns on a daily basis during trial week as the truth about the night Amy died slowly starts to unravel, and with the verdict due in next Thursday’s episode there’s still a way to go. Expect the unexpected…
