When it was announced that Channel 4 was the new home of The Great British Bake Off fans were concerned.

They were worried that the channel would mess with the show’s format and that its ad breaks would ruin the recipe for their beloved baking series.

Channel 4 couldn’t scrap the ads for what insiders said were “financial reasons”, so they opted to run each episode – fronted by new hosts Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig alongside judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith – for 75 minutes instead.

But did the ‘Channel 4 hour’ make or break Bake Off?
