We waved a sad farewell at the end of Poldark episode seven as Aunt Agatha passed away at home in Trenwith.
The matriarch’s demise was suitably dramatic – she went out in a blaze of glory cursing George Warleggan and leaving him in the knowledge that his supposed son and heir, Valentine, was “no eight-month babe”.
But what will Agatha’s dying words mean for Elizabeth? And how will her death affect her beloved nephew Ross, who appears to be meeting his former flame in secret?
Speaking of Captain Poldark, while he was busy turning down offers to run for Parliament, his wife’s eye was wandering towards the young Hugh Armitage. And why wouldn’t she be tempted? He was merely being nice to her.
Will Demelza give in to Hugh’s advances? What will become of poor Morwenna, destined for a life of horror with monstrous husband Osbourne. And will George take Truro’s seat in Westminster?
