Hollyoaks: Sienna chooses to save her babies, not herself in heartbreaking cancer twist

Faced with an impossible choice, brave Sienna puts her unborn twins first...

Sienna Blake’s cancer storyline begins in next week’s Hollyoaks, and immediately the stunned mum-to-be is put in an impossible position when doctors tell her she must choose between having an operation that could save her but potentially risk her unborn twins’ lives, or putting the babies first and having no treatment for the illness…

Stunned Sienna learns she has cervical cancer in hard-hitting scenes airing next week and knows she has a difficult decision to make – her life or her kids.

Having watched her teenage daughter Nico die in front of her during last year’s Halloween fire horror, Sienna is desperate to be a mother again and has vowed to protect her children at all costs.

Unsure what to do, she turns to close friend and mother figure Myra McQueen for support, and Myra shares her own experience of having an operation while pregnant last year with eighth child Carmina.

Encouraging Sienna to agree to the procedure that could save her life, it appears she’s got through to her. However, Sienna later tells shocked fiance and father of the twins Warren Fox that she has decided against the operation and has chosen to save her babies – not herself.

The repercussions of Sienna’s decision will be felt throughout the summer with the cervical cancer plot set to be one of the soap’s biggest storylines in the coming months – how will Warren react? Will he support her decision? Is she doing the right thing?

Hollyoaks continues weeknights on E4 at 7pm and on Channel 4 at 6.30pm.
