ITV’s Thunderbirds reboot just got a big boost in big-name talent, with David Tennant, Emilia Clarke and Mark Gatiss all joining the new series of Thunderbirds Are Go in special guest roles this series.
Former Who star Tennant is set to play Tycho Reeves, described as “a billionaire inventor much admired by Brains, who has some unexpected teething problems on the inaugural voyage of his superspeed Hypercar,” having clearly left his sonic screwdriver at home that day.
Meanwhile, Game of Thrones star Clarke will play Doyle, “a resilient and courageous oil rig worker” who allies with the International rescue gang, and her Thrones co-star Mark Gatiss (best known for co-creating and starring in Sherlock) will take the role of Professor Quentin Questa.
Other guest stars will include The Last Leg’s Adam Hills as Buddy Pendergast, Ruby Wax as Haylay Edmonds and film star Asa Butterfield (Hugo, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Nanny McPhee, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children) as Space Controller Conrad.
In other words, it looks like the new adventures of the Tracy family will see more stars than Thunderbird 5. FAB, over and out.
Thunderbirds Are Go will return to ITV and CITV this September
