EastEnders: Shirley quits the Vic following fall-out with Mick

The Carters face fresh pressure in next week's episodes of the BBC1 soap

Shirley Carter looks set to ditch her job at the Queen Vic in next week’s EastEnders after falling out with son Mick.

The argument comes after meddling Fi Browning talks to Mick about Shirley helping herself to the alcohol and scaring away the customers, all of which gives the landlord plenty to think about.

Knowing how volatile Shirley can be, Mick is left in a quandary as to how to broach the subject. But Shirl looks set to make the decision for him when – on Friday 28 July – she overhears Mick and Fi discussing her future at the Vic.

Upset, Shirley then tells Mick that she’s quitting her job, but will still continue to live on the premises. But will tensions remain with mother and son living under the same roof?

And, more to the point, is it Fi’s intention to cause as many problems among the staff as possible?
